Open the App

Launch Holy Ramayan. The home screen shows today's shlokas and your reading progress at a glance.

Set Your Daily Goal

Go to the Recite tab or Settings. Choose how many shlokas you want to recite each day (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, or 10).

Choose Your Language

In Settings, pick your preferred translation language. All ten languages (Sanskrit, Hindi, English, French, German, Arabic, Russian, Spanish, Bengali, Thai, Filipino) are available offline.

Recite Daily

Tap the Recite tab to see today's shlokas on an ancient parchment-style card. Swipe to move through the shlokas. Tap Complete ✓ when done to advance to the next day.

Use the Kandas tab to browse all 7 Kandas (chapters) of the Ramayan and read any shloka individually with full multilingual translations.

The 7 Kandas of the Ramayan

The Adhyatma Ramayan is divided into seven books (Kandas), each narrating a distinct chapter of Shri Rama's divine journey:

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the app work offline?
Yes. All shloka content is bundled within the app. No internet connection is required to read any shloka or to use the recitation feature. An internet connection is only needed when first downloading the app from the store.
Is the app completely free?
Yes. Holy Ramayan is 100% free. There are no in-app purchases, subscriptions, or hidden fees. There are no advertisements either.
How do I change the translation language?
Open the Settings tab (gear icon) and scroll to the Display Language section. Tap any language to switch immediately. Your selection is remembered across app restarts.
How do I change the number of shlokas recited daily?
In the Recite tab, tap the "N/day" button in the top corner to choose 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, or 10 shlokas per day. You can also change this from the Settings screen. The change takes effect from your next day.
How do I reset my recitation progress?
Go to Settings → Progress section → Reset Recitation Progress. A confirmation dialog will appear. Confirming will restart your recitation from the very first shloka of Bala Kanda.
How long will it take to complete the entire Ramayan?
The Adhyatma Ramayan contains approximately 23,555 shlokas. At 5 shlokas per day it would take approximately 13 years of daily recitation — a deeply meaningful spiritual journey. At 10 shlokas per day, about 6.5 years.
Does the app collect my personal data?
No. Holy Ramayan does not collect any personal information. Your reading progress, language preference, and daily goal are stored only on your own device and are never transmitted to any server. Please see our full Privacy Policy.
The app is showing only a few shlokas — where is the full Ramayan?
The initial release contains a curated selection of representative shlokas from all 7 Kandas. We are systematically adding all shlokas in subsequent updates. Each update will expand the database toward the complete 23,555-shloka corpus. Follow updates in the App Store / Play Store to receive new shlokas automatically.
Can I use this app to share shlokas on social media?
You are welcome to share individual shloka text for personal, non-commercial, and devotional purposes. Please credit the source: Adhyatma Ramayan, Gita Press, Gorakhpur.
I found an error in a shloka or translation. How do I report it?
Please email info@m4infotech.com with the Kanda name, chapter number, shloka number, and the correction. We deeply appreciate your help in maintaining scriptural accuracy.
The app crashes or won't open. What should I do?
1. Force-close the app and reopen it.
2. Make sure your device OS is updated.
3. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app (your progress may be lost on reinstall).
4. If the issue persists, please email info@m4infotech.com with your device model, OS version, and a description of the problem.
